DSC Alliance is an organization built for physicians who are practicing — or transitioning into — direct specialty care. Their vision was to offer a seamless digital environment where doctors could join, onboard, access resources, and manage their membership inside one unified ecosystem.
The core challenge: build a scalable, membership-driven platform that delivers a smooth user experience on the front end and a streamlined operational experience on the back end.
This required designing not just a website, but a connected system of membership logic, access control, onboarding, and automations that could grow with the organization over time.
Timeline
This project focused on designing a structure and environment that could grow with the organization long-term. Most of the work centered on creating the systems, flows, and backend logic required for scalability and ongoing operations.

Backend Development
I followed a product design best-practice model — Discover → Define → Develop → Deliver. This started with research and discovery, moved into defining core UX needs and system requirements, then into iterative development with the backend engineer, and finally into delivery of a clean, scalable platform.
Most off-the-shelf membership systems couldn’t deliver the exact blend of roles, permissions, automations, and onboarding flows DSC Alliance required. A more custom, orchestrated system was necessary to match their desired experience.
From role-based access and profile onboarding to membership logic and directory functionality, it became clear that backend development was the cornerstone of achieving a seamless user experience.
The client needed a fully automated journey that looked like this:
Add to Cart → Checkout → Membership Approved → Profile Onboarding → User Portal Access → Cancel at Any Time
HivePress, WooCommerce, WordPress, and GoHighLevel all needed to communicate without creating friction, confusion, or data loss.
Solution: We established a structured architecture with clear data routing and fallback logic. Each tool was given a specific responsibility in the system, and we defined how and when data should sync between them — minimizing redundancy and potential points of failure.
DSC Alliance planned for significant growth, so the system needed to be flexible and stable enough to handle a rising number of members and new membership types over time.
Solution: We implemented modular backend structures, easily expandable onboarding flows, and membership logic that could be extended without requiring a complete redesign. The platform was built with future tiers, offers, and expansions in mind.
Nothing was formally out of scope for this phase; however, many of the more sophisticated ideas for future features required deeper backend development rather than simple UI adjustments and were intentionally placed on a roadmap for later iterations.
The result is a clean, scalable membership ecosystem where physicians can join, onboard, and engage with DSC Alliance without friction — and where the organization can manage everything from a streamlined backend with room to grow.
